Scholarships


Professional Scholarship
This Professional Scholarship is to be used for workshops, professional development schools and/or management schools. The scholarship will pay for registration fee, hotel, and transportations costs not to exceed $500. The award is good for one year from the date of acceptance. Elected SPRA board members are not eligible. To be eligible you must work full-time for an Illinois Park District or in the recreation field and must be willing to become a SPRA member if you are not already a member.

IPRA Conference Student Scholarship:
The SPRA Scholarship and Workshop committee awards a scholarship for one student to attend the IPRA conference in Chicago. The scholarship is a $110 stipend that you can use for registration or other related conference expenses. To be eligible you must have worked for an Illinois Park District or recreation department. You must be or be willing to become a member of SPRA. You must be enrolled as a full-time student in a park and recreation curriculum at a college or university. A student may only receive the SPRA scholarship a total of two years.
